ORLANDO — An Orange County asphalt business is suing a general contractor, alleging breach of contract.

Seminole Asphalt Paving Inc. filed a complaint Feb. 26 in Orange County Circuit Court against William Edward Construction LLC, alleging monetary damages of more than $26,000.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 10, 2016, Seminole Asphalt Paving entered into a contract with the defendant for improvements on the property at 236 S. Semoran Blvd, Orlando. The suit says the plaintiff has suffered damages from this subcontract to provide labor and materials for the project, because William Edward Construction has not fully paid for services due and owing to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff alleges William Edward Construction required Seminole Asphalt to retain the services of the law firm for the prosecution of legal action, and accepted and utilized labor and materials supplied by the plaintiff without providing the required payment.

Seminole Asphalt Paving seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of $26,306 and all just relief. It is represented by attorney Barry Kalmanson of Maitland.
