ORLANDO — Orlando property owners are suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Anthony and Vera Raphael filed a complaint Feb. 26 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, alleging the insurer failed to cover damages caused by a hurricane.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 9, 2017, the Raphaels suffered covered losses to their property at 5130 Lake Underhill Road, Orlando, caused, at least in part, by Hurricane Irma. Although the plaintiffs say they have complied with and performed all conditions precedent to recover money under the policy, the defendant has refused to pay the insurance claim.

The plaintiffs allege Security First Insurance has failed to investigate and adjust the full scope of the Raphaels' covered loss and damage, and refused to pay for all of plaintiffs' property loss and damages that are covered under the insurance policy.

The Raphaels seek trial by jury, judgment to determine coverage, attorney fees and court cost, and all further relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Jonathan Korin of Korin Law PA in Miami Lakes.
