ORLANDO — An Orange County man is suing a construction company, alleging negligence caused severe injuries to his hand.

Juan E. Mendoza Alarcon filed a complaint Feb. 9 in Orange County Circuit Court against Structural Contractors South Inc., alleging the construction company failed to provide a safe environment.

According to the complaint, on June 20, 2014, Alarcon was working on a job site at 12321 University Blvd., Orlando. The suit says Aalrcon was climbing a ladder when the ladder gave way, causing him to grab a metal window frame with his right hand. Alarcon says the frame cut through his hand, causing severe and permanent injuries, deformity, disability, scarring, mental anguish and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges Structural Contractors South failed to maintain the equipment provided Alarcon, failed to provide assistance to plaintiff after the incident, and failed to report the injuries to OSHA.

Alarcon seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, interest, court costs and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Fanny Nater of Nater Law Firm PLLC in Orlando.
