ORLANDO — An Orlando couple is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.
Jano and Therese Hovhanessian filed a complaint Feb. 2 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida, alleging failure to cover hurricane damages.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2017, the Hovhanessians' property at 1931 Windcrest Lake Circle, Orlando, which was under a homeowners insurance policy sustained a covered loss from Hurricane Irma. However, the suit says, despite the plaintiffs' efforts to comply with all post-loss obligations, American Integrity refused to provide coverage.
The plaintiffs allege American Integrity Insurance of Florida has failed or refused to fully perform under the policy, failed to fully value the plaintiffs’ losses and failed to fully pay for all of the plaintiffs’ losses.
The Hovhanessians seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest on any overdue payments, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by attorney Roger A. Hatfield of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
