Customer blames Target for injuries at store

Slip01

ORLANDO — A customer is suing Target, alleging negligence at the defendant's Orlando store that caused the plaintiff to suffer injuries.

Lynda Toro filed a complaint Feb. 1 in Orange County Circuit Court against Target Corporation, doing business as Super Target Store No. 1790, alleging the defendant failed to exercise reasonable care to reduce, minimize or eliminate foreseeable risks before they become dangerous conditions on Target property.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 13, 2015, Toro was shopping at the Target store, 2155 Town Center Blvd., Orlando, when she slipped and fell due to a transient substance on the floor. As a result, Toro says she sustained physical injuries, disability, mental anguish and expenses of hospitalization.

The plaintiff alleges Target Corporation failed to maintain the store in a reasonably safe condition and failed to warn guests of the hidden or concealed transitory substance in the area where the fall occurred.

Toro seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 and all further relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by attorney R. Jeremy Hill of The Pendas Law Firm in Orlando.
