ORLANDO — A Texas woman is suing an Orlando resort owner, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff suffering injuries.

Betty Watson of Williamson County, Texas, filed a complaint Jan. 25 in Orange County Circuit Court against Rosen Hotels and Resorts Inc., alleging the resort owner failed to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on May 28, 2017, Watson was at the defendant's vacation resort, 9840 International Drive, Orlando, for a conference. The suit says Watson slipped and fell due to the slippery condition of the shower room. As a result, Watson says she sustained injuries in and about her body and extremities, pain and suffering, significant scarring, mental anguish, incurred medical expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges Rosen Hotels and Resorts failed to adequately warn guests of the dangerous condition of its shower area and failed to install anti-slip material an/or a handicap rail to prevent injuries.

Watson seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus court costs, interest, and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Craig R. Lynd and Jeffrey S. Kaufman of Kaufman & Lynd PLLC in Orlando.
