ORLANDO — A Florida resident is suing Mastec Inc., an engineering company, citing alleged negligence.
Sebine Coleman filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in the Orange Circuit Court against Mastec alleging that it failed to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 14, 2016, she was on the premises as a tenant, when an agent of the defendant carelessly thrust boxes at plaintiff, which resulted in injury, pain and suffering, disability, scarring, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.
Coleman holds Mastec Inc. responsible because it allegedly failed to warn plaintiff of the dangers of assisting the defendant, failed to control articles to ascertain that the boxes are adequately handled and failed to consider the ability of the plaintiff to handle the heavy boxes.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages, together with costs, interest and other relief deemed just. She is represented by Craig R. Lynd, Jeffrey S. Kaufman and Ashley Lefevre of Kaufman & Lynd PLLC in Orlando.
