Woman claims dog viciously attacked daughter

Dogattack

CLEARWATER — A representative is suing a dog's owners, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries, liability and negligence.

Aleah Higgins as mother and legal guardian of Aubrey Thompson, a minor, filed a complaint on Jan. 11, in the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court against Kristi Ponds, Maime Ponds, and Jaqhuan Robinson alleging that they failed to properly secure their dog in order to prevent it from physically attacking Aubrey Thompson.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 29, 2017 Aubrey Thompson sustained serious physical injuries when her face was severely bitten by their dog.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to make sure that their dog was restrained in order to prevent it from viciously attacking Aubrey Thompson.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendants for damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by David A. Papa of Papa & Gipe, P.A. in Clearwater.
