Insurance 11

ORLANDO — An Orlando man is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Diogenes Lora filed a complaint Dec. 27 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, alleging failure to cover damages from a hurricane.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2017, while Lora's property's insurance was in full force and effect, his home at 4816 Edmee Circle, Orlando, sustained a covered loss as a result of Hurricane Irma. However, the suit says, Lora's efforts to furnish timely notice of the covered loss, Security First has refused to pay either part or all the plaintiff's claim.

The plaintiff alleges Security First Insurance failed to timely evaluate and pay the full amount of policy benefits owed to Lora under the terms of the policy, and failed to comply with terms of the policy.

Lora seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, court costs, interest, attorney fees and all other relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorney Pearl Ben Yoram of Militzok & Levy PA in Hollywood, Florida.
