Customer blames Dillard's for injuries

Slip02

ORLANDO — A Seminole County woman is suing Dillard's, alleging the department store's negligence and premises liability caused her injuries.

Ana Dolores Castillo filed a complaint Dec. 27 in Orange County Circuit Court against Dillard's Inc., alleging failure to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 2, 2014, Castillo visited the Dillard's at 3403 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando. The suit says Castillo slipped and fell on an unknown liquid substance that came from the ceiling of the defendant's premises. Castillo says she suffered injuries all over her body and sustained medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Dillard's failed to adequately maintain the premises, particularly its ceiling and floor, and failed to adequately correct and/or repair the unreasonably dangerous condition.

Castillo seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest, court costs and attorney fees, punitive damages and all further relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Richard Valle of The Valle Law Firm PA in Orlando.
