ORLANDO — An Orlando property owner is suing an insurance company, alleged breach of contract.

Alfredo Ruiz Lozano filed a complaint Dec. 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, alleging the defendant breached the policy contract by failing to properly adjust and pay Lozano the proper amount for property loss.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 23, 2016, Lozano's property at 1241 Linton Ave., Orlando, sustained roof damages as a result of high winds. The suit says despite Lozano complying with all of obligations necessary for his insurance policy and timely filing for coverage loss, he has failed to receive the correct amount to which he is entitled to under terms of the policy.

As a result, Lozano says he has diligently tried to complete reasonable repairs to the property and has mitigated the damages sustained that should be covered under his insurance policy.

The plaintiff alleges Security First Insurance Company failed to acknowledge that additional payment should be provided to the insured and failed to adequately provide coverage under the terms of the policy.

Lozano seeks trial by jury, declaratory judgment of more than $15,000, attorney fees, court costs and all other relief the court deems appropriat0. He is represented by attorney Alexandra Ramon of Ramon, Rodriguez, Blanco-Herrera LLP in Miami.
