Customer blames Wawa for fall, injuries

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing Wawa, alleging negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Cynthia Allen filed a complaint Nov. 8 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Wawa Inc., alleging failure to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on July 11, 2014, Allen she was on defendant's property at 9500 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg,. The suit says Allen slipped and fell due to a liquid that existed on Wawa the floor, leading to bodily injury and resulting pain. Allen alleges she suffered inconvenience, disfigurement, loss of earnings, and aggravation of a previously existing condition, due to a liquid that existed on the floor of defendant's premises. 

The plaintiff alleges Wawa failed to provide proper maintenance of its premises, failed to provide adequate safety measures, failed to enforce adequate inspection and supervision of the premises, and failed to provide proper training of its employees.

Allen seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of at least $15,000, court costs, interest and all just relief. She is represented by attorney Lynley B. Flagler of Flagler Law PA in St. Petersburg.
