Customer blames Aldi for injuries in fall

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing Aldi, alleging the retail store's negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Anastasia Bizzarri filed a complaint Oct. 24 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Aldi (Florida) LLC, doing business as Aldi, alleging failure to provide a safe environment for business invitees.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 6, 2015, Bizzarri was shopping at an Aldi in Seminole. The suit says as a result of Aldi's negligence, Bizzarri was caused to slip and fall due to water or other liquid that accumulated on the floor of the store.

Bizzarri says she suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of earnings and aggravation of a previously existing, asymptomatic condition.

The plaintiff alleges Aldi breached its duty of reasonable care to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, including efforts to keep its floors free from accumulations of water or other liquids.

Bizzarri seeks trial by jury and damages of more than $15,000. She is represented by attorney Joel P. Yanchuck of Yanchuck, Berman, Wadley, Thomas & Berman PA in St. Petersburg.
