ORLANDO — An Orlando baggage services business is suing a former employee, alleging breach of contract.
Baggage Airline Guest Services Inc. (Bags) filed a complaint Sept. 19 in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida Orange County against Loretta Andrews, alleging violation of the Florida Computer Abuse and Data Recovery Act.
According to the complaint, on July 14, 2014, Andrews signed a contract to return all Bags records taht she may have had in her possession or control after her termination from the company. The suit says after tending her resignation, Andrews deleted a vast number of email messages from her Bags' email account and performed mass deletion from her work computer, which included important electronic files related to Bags'.
The plaintiff alleges Andrews knowingly and intentionally accessed company computer systems and entered delete commands to destroy confidential business information without consent, causing damages to Bags of at least $75,000.
Bags seeks trial by jury, damages, attorney fees, court costs, and all other relief the court deems just and proper. It is represented by attorneys Jason Zimmerman, Brock Magruder and Daniel J. Kavanaugh of GrayRobinson PA in Orlando.
