Customer blames Zara store for injuries

Slip01

ORLANDO — A customer is suing a Zara store, alleging negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Martha Vasconez filed a complaint Sept. 19 in Orange County Circuit Court against Zara USA Inc., alleging the retail store failed to use ordinary care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 20, 2017, Vasconez  was a customer in Zara's Florida Mall location at 8001 Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando. The suit says she slipped and fell due to a wet floor on the premises.

The lawsuit states the fall caused injuries to her body, resulting in pain and suffering, disability disfigurement, mental anguish, hospital expenses and medical care and treatment.

The plaintiff alleges Zara USA failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, and failed to adequately correct the dangerous conditions on the premises.

Vasconez seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs of court. She is represented by attorney Nicole L. Benjamin of Benjamin Law Firm PA in Orlando.
