Slip02

FORT LAUDERDALE — A Broward County couple is suing a Pompano Beach retail store owner, alleging negligence and loss of consortium.

Sandra and Michael Streeter filed a complaint Sept. 21 in the Broward Circuit Court against Moran Foods LLC doing business as Save-A-Lot, alleging the retail store owner failed to use ordinary care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 13, 2016, Sandra Streeter was on the defendant's property in Pompano Beach as a customer, when she slipped and fell on the floor from slippery and transitory substances. As a result of the incident, the suit says Streeter suffered bodily injury, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, aggravation of a previously existing condition and she incurred medical expenses.

The lawsuit says her husband, Michael Streeter, has been deprived of the services, society and consortium of his wife

The plaintiffs allege Save-A-Lot failed to warn Sandra Streeter of the concealed dangers in the premises, permitted the hazardous condition to remain, and failed its duty to protect its customers from harm.

The Streeters seeks trial by jury, judgment for damages, costs, interest, and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Ronald M. Simon and Rahysa Vargas of Simon Trial Firm in Miami.
