ORLANDO – A Florida Department of Transportation contractor alleges a driver's negligence cost it thousands to repair a state route.

Infrastructure Corp. of America filed a complaint on June 28 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Prestige Pool Care Inc. and John R. Daquila alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 11, 2016, Daquila negligently operated a motor vehicle owned by his co-defendant and employer on state Road 417 and caused a chemical spill. The suit states that the spill damaged the roadway and repair costs incurred by the plaintiff totaled $17,962.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for damages, plus interest, costs and other relief the court deems just. It is represented by Michael J. Bradford and Julie A. Aiello of Hamilton, Miller & Birthisel LLP in Tampa.
