FORT LAUDERDALE — A Florida resident is suing Federated National Insurance Company for alleged breach of contract.

Maria Molano filed a complaint on June 13 in the Broward County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her property was damaged on January 26 due to a plumbing leak, which has adversely affected plaintiff and caused substantial hardship. As a result of defendant allegedly breaching the insurance contract by not covering the damages, the plaintiff allegedly has lost benefits and continues to suffer losses.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing and/or refusing to provide full coverage and fully indemnify her for her losses.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, pre-judgment interest, costs of action, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by Neil M. Khan of Greenspoon Marder PA in Fort Lauderdale.
