O'Maddy's Inc. accused of negligence

CLEARWATER — A business invitee is suing O'Maddy's Inc. for alleged negligence.

Marie Richardson filed a complaint on June 29 in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County, alleging that the defendant breached its duty to maintain the premises safe for the public.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was an invitee on the defendant's premises on Oct. 28, 2016 when she slipped on a power cord and fell, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, medical and hospitalization expenses and loss of income. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly allowing a dangerous condition to exist on the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $15,000 plus costs of this proceeding. She is represented by William H. Winters of Winters & Yonkers PA in Tampa.
