By Jenie Mallari-Torres | Aug 7, 2017

FORT LAUDERDALE — A woman is suing Wal-Mart Stores East LP for citing alleged negligence.

Rachel Hyduke filed a complaint on June 12 in the Broward Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to provide a safe environment for its patrons.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered bodily injuries, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings and the aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions on March 5, 2016 when she allegedly slipped on an unknown hazardous substance and fell.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to give her notice or warning of the dangerous condition and for allegedly allowing a foreign substance to remain on its floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for compensatory damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and costs. She is represented by Mark Allen Egner of Mark Allen Egner PA in North Miami Beach.
