ORLANDO — An individual is suing Michael Hargreaves, a dog owner, for alleged negligence and strict liability.

David Hewitt filed a complaint on June 21 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he has suffered injuries including loss of an important bodily function, aggravation of an existing disease, pain and suffering and incurred medical expenses as a result of being bitten by a dog owned by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to warn him about the existing danger of the dog and for failing to secure the dog to prevent the animal from injuring him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest, costs and attorney's fees. He is represented by Lina M. Lopez of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
