Law money 06

ORLANDO – The owner of an Orlando property is seeking allegedly unpaid rent and the costs of repairs from two former tenants.

Fari Ashani, also known as Fari Ishani, filed a complaint on June 16 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Shawn A. Bakker and Anika Alarakhia seeking damages.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 28, 2016, the defendants entered into a lease with the plaintiff for one year. The suit states that the defendants failed to pay rent for June 2016 on and also left the premises in a dilapidated state. The plaintiff alleges that repairs of approximately $11,300 were needed to bring the property back into the condition it was when the defendants took possession.

The plaintiff holds Shawn A. Bakker and Anika Alarakhia responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay monthly rental payments for the entire one year lease agreement, and subjected plaintiff to repair costs to restore the property to its original condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for damages, plus costs, attorney's fees and further relief that the court deems proper. The plaintiff is represented by Ben Zaeri of Zaeri & Associates PA in Longwood.
