FORT LAUDERDALE – A tenant at a Dania Beach apartment building alleges she was injured when a portion of the ceiling collapsed on her.

Lamanda Duncombe filed a complaint on June 7 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against 99-31 Holdings LLC and Pristine Property Management LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 17, 2016, while she was in her apartment unit owned by the defendants, a portion of the ceiling structure collapsed and fell onto plaintiff. As a result, the plaintiff alleges she suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, impairment, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds 99-31 Holdings LLC and Pristine Property Management LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly maintain, operate, upkeep and repair the premises; failed to warn tenants of the imminent danger; and failed to comply with applicable codes, safety standards and regulations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for compensatory damages, costs and interest. She is represented by Yeemee Chan of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene PA in Fort Lauderdale.
