Man alleges Health Central Park failed to protect residents from harm or fatal injury

Medical malpractice 02

ORLANDO – An estate representative has filed a suit against a Winter Garden nursing home alleging that its care resulted in the untimely death of his decedent.

Louis Carrion, as personal representative of the estate of Luis Velasquez Rodriguez, filed a complaint on June 7 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Orlando Health Central Inc., doing business as Health Central Park, citing Chapter 400 of the Florida Statutes.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 1, 2016, his father-in law and decedent was admitted to defendant's facility for rehabilitation after hospitalization for urinary tract infection. The suit states the decedent suffered fatal injury when he became entangled in a bed remote control cable and was in a hanging position unconscious after a significant amount of time.

The plaintiff holds Orlando Health Central Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide sufficient nursing staff and failed to monitor, supervise and protect its residents from harm or fatal injury.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for compensatory damages and costs. He is represented by Carlos Diez-Arguelles of Diez-Arguelles & Tejedor PA in Orlando.
