Shopper alleges she was injured in fall at Mall at Millenia

Slip01

ORLANDO – A Mall at Millenia shopper alleges she was injured in a fall caused by a slippery substance on the floor.

Karen Schooley filed a complaint on June 6 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against The Forbes Co. LLC, doing business as Mall at Millenia, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 31, 2016, she was in defendant's property as an invitee, when she slipped from a foreign substance on the floor. As a result, plaintiff allegedly suffered serious bodily injuries, aggravated pre-existing injuries, mental anguish, disability, physical impairment, loss of earnings, inconvenience and substantial expenses for her medical care.

The plaintiff holds The Forbes Co. LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed a foreign substance to remain on the walkway tile flooring, failed to properly clean the area, and failed to implement proper procedure for monitoring and inspecting premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for compensatory damages of more than $15,000, plus court costs, and other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Steven R. Schooley of The Schooley Law Firm in Orlando.
