ORLANDO – An Orlando homeowner alleges her insurer failed to adequately compensate her for damages to her property.
Tamara Powers filed a complaint on May 23 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Federated National Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 6, 2016, while her homeowner's insurance policy was in full force, her property was damaged and needed repairs to its roof. The suit states the defendant failed to pay the full value for the repairs.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for all unpaid and overdue insurance benefits with interest, costs, attorney's fees and for all other remedies the court sees fit to grant. She is represented by Jennifer El Mekkaoui of Cohen Grossman in Maitland.
