ORLANDO – Two Orlando property owners allege their insurer undervalued the extent of weather damage to their property.
Mary McDonough and Sheila K. McDonough filed a complaint on May 17 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 29, 2016, while their property's insurance was in full force and effect, a covered loss occurred to the property because of storm and hail damage. The plaintiffs allege that the defendants have undervalued the extent of the property's damages.
The plaintiffs hold American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to honor its contractual obligations by failing to provide complete payment for plaintiffs’ covered loss.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for damages, prejudgment interest, attorney’s fees, costs, and any other relief the court deems fair. They are represented by Harold Levy of HL Law Group PA in Fort Lauderdale.
