Winn-Dixie shopper claims she was injured after falling because of liquid on floor at store

FORT LAUDERDALE – A shopper at a Fort Lauderdale Winn-Dixie alleges she was injured in a fall at the store.

Aura Cardona filed a complaint on May 19 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Winn Dixie Stores Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 15, 2016, she was in the defendant's store to shop for groceries when she suffered a fall caused by water or other transient liquids or substances to remain of the floor of the premises. The plaintiff alleges she suffered injuries, pain, impairment, inconvenience, disability, medical expenses and aggravation of an existing condition. 

The plaintiff holds Winn Dixie Stores Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for compensatory damages, cost and interest. She is represented by Alejandro Garcia of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene PA in Fort Lauderdale.
