Shopper alleges she was injured in fall at Save-A-Lot store

Slip01

ORLANDO – A Save-A-Lot shopper claims she was injured in the store because of the condition of the floor.

Yamile Caballero filed a complaint on May 16 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Supervalu Inc., doing business as Save-A-Lot, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 5, 2015, she was visiting the Orlando premises of the defendant as a customer when she slipped on a liquid substance. Plaintiff alleges she sustained severe, grievous and permanent injuries, physical and mental pain and suffering, grief, anguish, inability to lead a normal life, and incurred hospital and medical bills.

The plaintiff holds Supervalu Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the floor of the premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to place barricades, signs or other marking devices to alert customers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages, costs and interest from the defendant, together with other relief the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Jessica J. Gonzalez-Monge of Rubenstein Law PA in Orlando.
