CLEARWATER – A man alleges he was caused to fall at a St. Petersburg property because of poorly maintained stairs.

Eugene Carr filed a complaint on May 15 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Karikas Enterprises Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 3 he visited his sister's residence at defendant's building and sustained serious injuries when he stepped on a piece of wood that had become dislodged from the staircase, which caused him to fall. The plaintiff alleges he suffered physical and mental pain, loss of earnings and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Karikas Enterprises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to correct and remediate the hazardous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for damages, costs of this action and all other relief as the court may deem appropriate. He is represented by Donald J. Schutz of Donald J. Schutz Law Office in St. Petersburg.
