CLEARWATER – A woman alleges she was injured when a patient of a St. Petersburg assisted living facility pushed her.

Beulah Coughenour filed a complaint on May 11 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against DFGV Holdings Inc., doing business as Grand Villa of St. Petersburg, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 22, 2015, while she was visiting defendant's property, one of its patients pushed her as she exited the elevator, causing her to fall to the floor. As a result, she claims she sustained serious injuries, suffered pain therefrom, including mental anguish, handicap, loss of earnings, medical expenses and aggravation of a previously existing condition.

The plaintiff holds DFGV Holdings Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn its clientele of the dangerous condition, and negligently permitted its residents to wander the halls without proper supervision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000, together with interest and costs. She is represented by Justin W. Pimenta of Abrahamson & Uiterwyk in Tampa.
