FORT LAUDERDALE – A Broward County man alleges he was shot at a Fort Lauderdale business because of its negligence.

Damian Royer filed a complaint on March 21 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against LT Food Enterprises LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 16, 2013, he suffered serious life-threatening injuries as a result of being shot multiple times while at the property of the defendant as an invitee. The plaintiff holds LT Food Enterprises LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to have an adequate number of security personnel on the premises during relevant hours, failed to deter the conduct of criminal activity on its premises, and failed to implement monitoring devices around the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages, plus attorney's fees, interest, and other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Douglas J. McCarron and Jason R. Brenner of The Haggard Law Firm PA in Coral Gables.
