Parents allege infant was injured during delivery, file suit against doctor, health care facilities

Medical malpractice 09

ORLANDO – A couple alleges their infant was injured during delivery due to a doctor's negligence.

Jason and Amy Kleine, natural guardian of minor Ilsa Kleiner, filed a complaint on March 21 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Adventist Health System/Sunbelt Inc., doing business as Winter Park Memorial Hospital, Pamela Snook MD and Contemporary Women’s Care PA alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 26, 2016, Jason and Amy Kleiner's infant was delivered by Snook and suffered a severe brachial plexus injury as a result of the excessive traction caused by defendant Snook to deliver the infant. The plaintiffs allege they have suffered mental anguish, mental pain and suffering, inconvenience, and incurred the cost of hospitalization, additional future medical care and other economic damages.

The plaintiffs hold Adventist Health System/Sunbelt Inc., Snook and Contemporary Women’s Care PA responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide the level of care and treatment acceptable and appropriate.

The plaintiffs request and trial by jury and seek judgment for damages against the defendants for compensatory damages, costs and such other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by John W. Dill of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
