Woman alleges Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. owes her disability benefits

Insurance 04

JACKSONVILLE – A woman alleges her claim for disability benefits was unlawfully denied.

Felicia Lauderdale filed a complaint on April 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against The Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. alleging that the plan administrator violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she is disabled and that the defendant has filed to pay short-term disability benefits to her. The plaintiff holds The Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected her to an unreasonable claims process.

The plaintiff seeks reinstatement of benefits, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief as the court may deem appropriate. She is represented by William S. Coffman of Coffman Law in Tampa.
