PALM BEACH – A Monroe County man alleges a Jupiter business has barriers that restrict access to the disabled.

Francis Martinez filed a complaint on March 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Palm Beach Division against Doug Pilla's Master Auto Care & Tire Inc., doing business as Master Auto Care, alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 26, he was denied full and equal access and enjoyment of the facilities, services, goods and amenities at the defendant's premises caused by preventive illegal barriers.

The plaintiff holds Doug Pilla's Master Auto Care & Tire Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to have an accessible restroom and appropriate parking.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, declaratory relief, attorneys' fees, all costs, expenses of suit, and further relief as it may deem proper. He is represented by Jason S. Weiss and Zachary W. Smith of Weiss Law Group PA in Coral Springs.
