WEST PALM BEACH – A Lighthouse Point alarm monitoring company alleges a West Palm Beach competitor unlawfully used its photos on a website.

Alarm Grid Inc. filed a complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, West Palm Beach Division against Alarm Club.Com Inc., doing business as Geoarm Security, alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has sustained and will continue to sustain substantial injury from defendant's reproduction and display of plaintiff’s copyrighted photographs through defendants’ owned and managed website www.alarmclub.com without permission, authorization, or license from the plaintiff.

The plaintiff holds Alarm Club.Com Inc., doing business as Geoarm Security, responsible because the defendant allegedly has profited from its infringement of the photographs at the expense of the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, actual and statutory damages, costs and expenses, interest and further relief as the court may deem just. It is represented by Julian A. Jackson-Fannin of Duane Morris LLP in Miami.
