Law money 06

MIAMI – An Orlando man alleges he was retaliated against for his complaints about not receiving overtime pay.

Yanichel Castillo filed a complaint on March 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against AE Outfitter Retail Co., doing business as American Eagle Outfitters, and Craig Mello citing the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Florida Private Whistleblower Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for the defendants as a store manager from June 2016 to February 2017. The plaintiff holds AE Outfitter Retail Co., doing business as American Eagle Outfitters, and Mello responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime wages and retaliated against the plaintiff for complaining about not receiving the overtime pay.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks lost back pay, reinstatement or front pay, compensatory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is representing himself.
