Royal Caribbean passenger claims he slipped on steps, was injured

Cruise 09

MIAMI – A Connecticut cruise ship passenger claims he fell because of standing water on a set of steps.

James McMahon filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 27, 2016, he suffered physical injuries when he slipped and fell on wooden stairs after exiting a hot tub because of the water on the steps. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff of the danger of the standing water around the outdoor hot tub aboard its vessel.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, compensatory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Steven H. Meyer of Steven H. Meyer PA in Boca Raton.
