Man alleges Life Insurance Co. of North America failed to consider records when denying benefits

Insurance 06

OCALA – A Lake County man alleges his long-term disability benefits were wrongfully denied to him.

William Rine filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Ocala Division against Life Insurance Co. of North America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered substantial monetary losses from insurance benefits caused by defendant's wrongful denial of plaintiff's long-term disability benefits. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay disability benefit payments to plaintiff, failed to consider plaintiff's medical records and operated under a conflict of interest.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in his favor, unpaid benefits, interest, attorneys' fees, and costs. He is represented by Herbert M. Hill and Michael Ann Woodard of Herbert M. Hill PA in Orlando.
