Royal Caribbean passenger seeks more than $75,000 in damages over fall on ship

MIAMI – An Oklahoma woman alleges she was injured when she slipped and fell on a Royal Caribbean ship.

Kate Diaz filed a complaint on Feb. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 29, 2016, she suffered physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to water that was left in a hallway on the ship Liberty of the Seas. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $75,000 plus interest. She is represented by Carlos A. Velasquez and Alejandro Larrazabal of Velasquez Dolan Arias PA in Plantation.
