FORT LAUDERDALE – A former TIN Inc. employee has filed a suit seeking reinstatement of his long-term disability benefits from his insurer.

Timothy Lang filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Standard Insurance Co. citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2012, he became disabled and was initially approved to receive disability benefits until his benefits were terminated on June 2016. The plaintiff holds Standard Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to terminate plaintiff's disability benefits despite him still being disabled according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due to the plaintiff, reinstatement to the plan, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Alexander A. Palamara and Gregory Michael Dell of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer, Chartered in Hollywood.
