BROWARD — A Lee County woman has filed a class-action lawsuit against her former employer citing alleged unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law and violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Laura Losacano filed a complaint on behalf of other employees similarly situated on Feb. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Anthony 57 Inc., d/b/a Anthony's at Sabal Springs; Anthony Serrago; and Sabal Springs Homeowners' Association Inc. alleging that they failed to pay the plaintiff fair wages for her work.
According to the complaint, Losacano alleges that she worked as a server at Anthony's on the Green without being paid minimum wage. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly paid their employees, including Losacano, a flat rate of $2 per hour.
Losacano requests a trial by jury and seeks minimum wages and other benefits, liquidated damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Peter Bober and Samara Robbins Bober of Bober & Bober P.A. in Hollywood.
