Tile World Corp. files suit over alleged use of its Native Sweet mark

ORLANDO – An Orlando corporation claims is mark is being unlawfully used by a Brazilian company.

Tile World Corp. filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Usina Sao Francisco S.A. alleging trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Tile World Corp. suffered damages to its business and reputation. The plaintiff holds Usina Sao Francisco S.A. responsible because the defendant allegedly used the plaintiff's Native Sweet mark to advertise its sugar products.

The plaintiff seeks to enjoin the defendant, damages, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Michael D. Crosbie and Daniel J. Barsky of Shutts & Bowen LLP in Orlando and West Palm Beach.
