Couple alleges Lease Finance Group continued to call without consent

Phone 09

JACKSONVILLE – A St. Johns County couple claims a debt collector called them more than 100 times after they revoked their consent.

Matt Cafiso and Susan Cafiso filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Lease Finance Group LLC citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in July 2016 they suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant for an equipment lease allegedly in debt. The plaintiffs hold Lease Finance Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff 150 times despite their request to stop calling them.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek statutory damages, punitive damages, treble damages, actual damages, enjoin the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Frank H. Kerney III of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa PA in Tampa.
