JACKSONVILLE – A Jacksonville man alleges his insurer would only partially cover property damage he alleges are covered under his policy.

Keith Chatman filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Wright National Flood Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, he suffered severe water damage to his Jacksonville property and submitted a claim to the defendant but the claim was partially denied. The plaintiff holds Wright National Flood Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly denied portions of plaintiff's flood claim and only paid a certain amount to the plaintiff, which was insufficient to cover for the damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award monetary damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Monique A. Low, David Low and Derek B. Hendricks of David Low & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
