MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County employer is accused of not paying overtime wages to two former employees.
Berkant Hakli and Karim Laroussi filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Bal Harbour Tower Condominium Association alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiffs holds Bal Harbour Tower Condominium Association responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half to the plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just.
