Law money 03

MIAMI – A former news editor for a Spanish radio station alleges he is owed unpaid wages.

Mario F. Mesa filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated individuals on Jan. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Deportes Media of Florida LLC, Deportes Media LLC and David F. Jacobs citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked as a news editor without being paid minimum and overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Deportes Media of Florida LLC, Deportes Media LLC and Jacobs responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to the plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half and failed to pay his regular wages during his last four weeks of employment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid minimum wages plus interest, double damages/liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Zandro E. Palma of Zandro E. Palma PA in Miami.
