Best Dry Cleaners did not pay overtime rate for work, former employee claims

Law money 13

ORLANDO – A man who formerly worked as a clothing presser alleges he was not paid overtime for his work.

Saul Lara filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Best Dry Cleaners Inc. citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation during his employment from February 2012 to April 2014. The plaintiff holds Best Dry Cleaners Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks payment of all overtime hours, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Carlos V. Leach of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
