Phone 08

JACKSONVILLE – A Georgia man claims a Jacksonville debt collector invaded his privacy by contacting a relative.

Corey Ivey filed a complaint on Jan. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Stellar Recovery Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages because the defendant called plaintiff's sister and disclosed to her that he owed a debt. He alleges this is a violation of the FDCPA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Sharina T. Romano of Hyslip & Taylor LLC LPA in Chicago.
