Man alleges Getting Productions owes him unpaid wages

ORLANDO – A Broward County man alleges he was not paid a minimum wage during his employment with Getting Productions.

Jason Manes filed a complaint on Jan. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida Orlando Division against Getting Productions Inc., doing business as Starke Lake Studios, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Florida Minimum Wage Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that from Feb. 2, 2015, to Sept. 26, 2015, he was an unpaid intern for the defendant. From Sept. 27, 2015, to July 29, 2016, the suit states he was classified as an independent contractor.

The plaintiff holds Getting Productions Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly misclassified the plaintiff in direct violation of the labor code, failed to compensate plaintiff for all hours worked, and failed to maintain adequate and accurate records of the hours plaintiff worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in his favor, unpaid minimum and overtime wages, liquidated damages, interest, cost and expenses, attorney's fees, and further relief deem just. He is represented by Keith L. Hammond of Law Office of Keith L. Hammond PA in Orlando.
